Curtis is a native of Yarrawonga, Victoria, Australia the daughter of Carmencita Ojales a Filipina from Bolinao Pangasinan and James Ernest Curtis-Smith an Australian lawyer. In 1982, her father got married to Ojales. Jasmine was her sister's younger. is also an acting. Clare is a cousin of theirs on the father's end. Clare passed away at 4 months in 2007 from an cardiovascular disease.
