
Nathalie Emmanuel (born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England) is an English actor. Most famously, she is Missandei from the HBO television show, the fantasy Game of Thrones (2011). Nathalie is born in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England with a father who was of Saint Lucian and English heritage and an mother with Dominican origin. Nathalie credits her mother for being the first motivation for becoming an actress. In the West End, she was given the role of Young Nala at the age of 10-years-old. She made her first television appearance as Sasha Valentine in the teen soap opera Hollyoaks (1995). Emmanuel played the role up to 2010, when her stories featured prostitution and heroin addiction. Nathalie was the host of BBC Three's Web-sex - What's The Harm that examined the internet-based sexual behaviors of UK 16-24-year-olds. At the end of September in the year in which she was a star, she appeared in the saga Twenty8. In the following year she was cast as Missandei, Daenerys Targaryen's translator HBO's fantasy-themed drama Game of Thrones (2011). In Game of Thrones, Emmanuel's character Thrones was upgraded to a regular in 2015. The same year, she portrayed Computer hacker Ramsey in the action film Furious 7 (2015) and Harriet in the sequel to sci-fi Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015). FHM magazine placed Emmanuel as number 99 on their 100 Sexiest Women of 2013. Then, in April of this year, Emmanuel appeared in InStyle magazine and GQ.
